I will always cherish the interaction we have with Ms. Bithika Basu while developing a highly process intensified hydrogen and fuel cell based power plant for underwater application.

Her thorough knowledge on relevant design Codes, smart design adaptations to meet stringent military and quality requirements for pressurized vessels, heat exchanger systems and precision piping were highly commendable.

Bithika served as the first Chair of ASME’s International Working Group supporting ASME’s Nuclear Codes and Standards development. In those early days, the success of the group depended on leadership, technical knowledge, and commitment by the Chair. Bithika brought all of those qualities to the position, and she was absolutely the right person for the role.

Her excellent practical knowledge is balanced by her aptitude for applying original solutions and outside-of-the-box thinking. I enjoyed working with her very much.

It was a great experience working with Ms. Bithika Basu during Steam Generator project started in 2009 with L&T. She has an in-depth knowledge of ASME Codes which was evident while designing Steam Generators of 700 MWe for the first time in India. These Steam Generators are now installed in NPCIL project at KAPP 3&4 and successfully commissioned.

I have known Bithika Basu for last eight years. My interaction with her were related to ASME Code Committee work while she was officiating as the Chair of the ASME's India International working group on Section III ( from 2013-2018).

Bithika is an astute Design engineer carrying extensive knowledge of the International Codes such as ASME BPVC Codes of Construction, especially BPVC Sections- III & VIII. Her ability to interpret and communicate by simplifying the Code language is a reflection of her depth of understanding and this makes her an instructor par excellence. She is extremely passionate about engineering and great believer in lifelong learning activities. Her strongest virtue is the Commitment Ethic and Time Management.

I am knowing Bithika Basu for last 10 years. Our interaction was during my tenure as Executive Director at NPCIL. I distinctly recall her participation in the discussions on various intricacies involved in design and manufacturing of Steam Generators by L&T for Nuclear Power Plants and issues related with required quality and safety standards. I had further interacted with her as adviser to their company.

She was leading a large group of engineers working on design and analysis of various nuclear grade components such as Steam Generators, Pressurizers, Heat Exchangers etc. Most of the engineers in her group were young and she had trained and mentored them very well. She is fully familiar with various International Codes such as ASME and keeps herself updated with advances.
